We are proud to tell you about the latest development and status of our Youth Exchange!
The youth exchange, called Displaced, teaches media tools to young migrant women from Greece, Spain, Romania and the Netherlands and offers a safe space for them to tell their stories.
The international participants of the 9-day workshop, which will be held in Amsterdam in November, will tackle a very important issue; their identity as migrants in Europe, where xenophobia and discrimination against migrants are becoming the norm.
The girls will make photos and shoot videos, and we will hold an exhibition where their videos and photography will shown. A publication with material made during the workshop will also be created. The Publication, videos and photography will help to raise awareness about migration through the eyes of migrants themselves, and help combat mainstream media coverage about them, as well as stereotypes.
We have already been granted part of the funds needed to make this workshop happen -we need just a little bit more in order to be able to execute it. This is why we are launching a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo!
The campaign started on the 30th of September and ends on the 15th of November. During this period VOW Media hopes to collect €5000, which will cover the final production costs of the workshop.
Please check out our fundraising campaign on Indiegogo, all donations and inquires are appreciated!
