Day 5: Visual Workshops

It has been an incerdible expereince so far. Sometimes up and sometimes down; like the lives of the women but the best thing is that the women feel rejuvinated after the workshops. They always tell me how bad they felt before and how much better they feel now.
Its important for me and Vivian to remember that we are doing this to allow the women to be in touch with thier strength. They are so strong and inspiring; thier spirits rising above all their negetive expereinces.
It is amazing to hear thier stories and the women have opened up to us and now treat us like one of thier freinds. Yesterday was the first day of visualing their ideas and they responded very well. Everyone wanted to participate and they listened attentivly to what our guest artist, Martin, was teaching them. They all made collages and discussed why they chose the colors, pictures, placement of the images etc. It is always so inspiring to see what inspires them. Vivian unfortunatly had to babysit so she missed the workshop but thank goodness for Vivian; otherwise we would have never got the women to focus for 2 hours without worrying about thier children!
