Day 6: Visual Workshop Day 2
Martin Travers and Pooja worked with C., P., and F. individually to create more of a visual
framework for their videos. C. and P. decided that they both wanted some sort of video based on what their life is, so Pooja gave them a still
camera and a video camera to start shooting around the house. I had to babysit so that the women could focus and played hide and seek with 3 of
the kids all the while keeping ann eye on the 2 babies trying to make sure they stayed asleep. After C. and P. left the room, Pooja, Martin and
the volunteer were left listening to a very hearbreaking story from F. She went into great detail about her life and her frustrations.
The translator/volunteer was having a difficult time trying to relate the nuances of what F. was saying - which I believe was probably the most
frustrating for Pooja. More from Pooja if she writes.

Here is a small example of F.'s story based on Pooja's notes:
she was locked up. couldn't go anywhere without permission. husband listened to other people. husband told her to do everything: would not let
her feed her sisters or buy things for them. sees the same story she went through with other women. closed herself and listens to other women's
problems in marriages. she is attracted to other people's stories but has no chance to say her own story. she wants to say her stories to get rid
of her stress. she has a lot of stress.
